A total of six honorees were chosen out of a group of over 75 nominations by a panel of judges. Along with Penta and Hunter, the other honorees included: Frances Anthes, president and CEO of the Family Health Center of Worcester; Patricia Jones, founder of P.L. Jones & Associates PC, of Worcester; Cynthia Normandin, vice president of Braun’s Express Inc., Hopedale, and Karen Wall, senior vice president Global Infrastructure Services, Akibia, Westborough.
"The Worcester Business Journal is very proud to have brought together this group of six female business leaders, including Deborah Penta and Kathryn Zingg Hunter," said Christina H. Davis, editor of the WBJ. "All six are great role models for current and future leaders within the local business community. Their leadership skills, combined with their commitment to giving back, are true examples to be emulated."
"As a judge reviewing nominations for the Women in Business Awards from the Worcester Business Journal, I was impressed not only by the outstanding leadership skills that Deborah and Kathy have brought to their careers, but also the fact that they bring these talents and skills to the benefit of the community as a whole, not just their individual company and business," said Allison Lane, Esq. of Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple, P.C.
