FLIC was founded on the principles of female leadership, mentoring and the belief that when you help someone else succeed, you grow and prosper in ways you could never imagine possible.
Organized to help professional women through educational programs including luncheon programs, seminars, workshops, public discussion groups, forums, panels, problem-solving clinics, mentoring programs and networking opportunities, FLIC was designed to educate and assist women in career, work/family balance and business skills issues. These educational, training, outreach, counseling programs and events are provided largely through the volunteer efforts of business women. These women have had extensive experience in managerial, ownership, entrepreneurial and executive business positions and are thus in a position to offer instruction, insight and counseling to women in general, and to businesswomen in particular. The purpose of these educational forums and workshops is to provide women with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in business and in life.
FLIC’s mission of providing educational instruction to women in order to develop their capabilities in the business world, increases the likelihood that their successes will benefit the community by promoting women’s economic opportunities in the business arena. Luncheons feature “trail blazing” and recognizably successful women, who from their successes, serve as mentors – models for members of FLIC. Programs include featured speakers, expert panels and a host of other activities to connect women to resources, which will help them achieve greatness in their professional and life endeavors.
In addition, to the education programs offered through luncheons, seminars, conferences and networking opportunities, the organization hosts a television show that helps educate the mass media through broadcast communications.
